2026 Yamaha MT-10 Revealed |
Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA, is proud to launch the new generation MT-10. This 2026 model is equipped with a diving device. However, the 2026 Yamaha MT-10 has not yet been officially launched. It will feature updated specifications, increased power, cooling, braking control, a new TFT dashboard, and a higher-spec SP version. Several components are derived directly from the YZF-R1. Yamaha presents extreme updates to the MT-10 sport bike, especially in the design. The latest MT-10's appearance is adopted from the YZF-R1 but with MT features and a blue and gold fairing. The Yamaha MT-10 is a new MT bike produced by Yamaha Motor Company since 2016. It was unveiled at EICMA 2015 in Milan, Italy. It is the cornerstone member of Yamaha's MT line. The engine is based on the 2015 YZF-R1 Offset Cross, but retuned to focus on low-end to mid-range torque. It features a number of significant technical changes, including a new fuel injection system, exhaust, and fuel injection system. This results in a claimed 118 kW at 11,500 rpm and 111 Nm at 9,000 rpm.
Since its launch, the MT-10 has been classified as a hyper-naked motorcycle. It has built a reputation as one of the most aggressive motorcycles. The latest generation continues the tradition, eliminating unnecessary body elements and focusing on the mechanical beauty of a pure muscle engine and a compact chassis. The front is one of the most important design elements. The new Dual Focus Mono LED technology and the LED positioning above it give it a smooth and dominant appearance. Separately mounted upper and lower beam units provide maximum illumination.
Ergonomics have also been improved for better handling and handling. The footwell and seat triangle have been strengthened by a lowered hip position. The seat outline has been updated, allowing riders to sit longer. The tank is smoother than before, with revised and enlarged air intakes on both sides, and the side panels have been removed, giving the 2022 model a more streamlined appearance. At the rear, the seat and tail unit have also been redesigned, resulting in a claimed improved riding position.
The mechanicals come from the 998cc, liquid-cooled, 4-cylinder, 16-valve, CP4 engine from the Yamaha YZF-R1, but with a naked bike feel. The superbike's titanium cylinders have been replaced by steel ones, designed for mid-range power output. But that doesn't mean it lacks performance. Power output has increased from 158.2 to 163.6 hp, while torque has increased from 111 Nm to 112 Nm. These peak at 11,500 rpm and 9,000 rpm, respectively.
There are no suspension changes. Previously, the standard 43mm head and fully adjustable KYB shock absorbers were used. Meanwhile, front braking has always been provided by dual 320mm discs with radially mounted 4-piston calipers. Performance has been further enhanced by the addition of Brembo radial-mounted calipers. In terms of performance, it features a new 4.2-inch TFT display. An improved wire-by-wire accelerator system is assisted by a six-axis IMU, enabling a complete rider setup. Engine Brake Control, Wheelie Control, Climbing ABS, Traction Control, and Yamaha's SCS Displacement Control System are standard equipment.
There are four behavior modes, providing presets for the rider, although they can be adjusted individually. There are also four power modes for the engine and engine response. While previously an optional QuickShifter transmission, it is now standard.

Yamaha calls the new MT-10 an evolution. It features a number of significant improvements in several areas. The changes are intended to make maneuvering easier for riders. Yamaha designers removed any elements deemed unnecessary and focused more on the mechanical components. The motorcycle's ergonomics have also been adjusted, now offering a lower hip position for a more comfortable riding position. Powering the bike is a 998cc four-cylinder engine producing 164 hp at 11,500 rpm and 112 Nm of torque at 9,000 rpm. The engine is coupled to a six-speed gearbox via buttons on both handlebars. So, to upshift, you no longer need to use the clutch.
The Yamaha MT-10 features a single-axis inertial control unit (IMU) that relies on a pair of sensors to measure angular velocity and acceleration. Data collected by the IMU is sent to the ECU for appropriate driving assistance, such as controlled front wheel lift.
The bike also comes equipped with a number of safety features such as lean-sensitive traction control, a slide control system (SCS), and a brake control system (BCS), as well as many other individually adjustable features.
